Serene Courtyard Retreat

This once small, tired, and overgrown inner-city garden in Clifton, Bristol, has been completely transformed. The existing period-built boundary wall set the tone for a rustic, Mediterranean-inspired renovation.

Extensive excavation was needed to rework the levels and create a more functional, flowing space. We used tumbled yellow limestone and matching cobbles throughout to introduce subtle paving details and define planting beds.

The planting scheme featured ancient olive trees and Mediterranean-style greenery, blending seamlessly with the hard landscaping to evoke the feel of a sun-soaked retreat. I loved the olive trees so much, I ended up ordering a few for my own garden!
